Connecting CoachesConnecting Coaches Newsletter. This monthly newsletter is to provide resources and assistance to Coaches throughout the Province. This newsletter will be a joint venture with all 7 ASDC centres in the province contributing their knowledge and resources.

In this issue, our research discusses the consequences of Excluding Talent. With the winter season just around the corner and the start up of the new season andthe process of selecting teams, this is a stressful time for both athlete and coach. In this article, the recommendation to develop all athletes rather than "cutting" players should be considered for the good of the sport.

ASDCC, offers various services to athletes and in this issue, we present an introduction to biomechanical analysis using Dartfish. This program is a very useful tool in analyzing sport specific techniques, and comparing previous actions to current performances.

As summer comes to an end, as a coach are you ready? Various coaching courses are available throughout the province including Red Deer College.

Finally, Dr. Adrienne Leslie-Toogood, Director of Sport Psychology at the Canadian Sport Centre Manitoba offers coaching tips about Managing Emotions and Recovery, both as an athlete and as a Coach.

We welcome your feedback on this issue or on future issues. Let us know if there are topics you would like to see, or submit your article to be included in future issues. Being a coach is an evolving process and it is our intent to assist you by offering quality programs, services and resources to aid in your development. Contact us to see what we can do for you.
